Mobilizing the Vote in Hartford
The Voter Captains’ Project is a community-driven initiative designed to increase voter participation among historically underrepresented groups. By leveraging relational organizing, the project trains local leaders—voter captains—to engage their social networks in meaningful conversations about civic participation.
This approach fosters trust and mobilizes low-propensity voters in a way that traditional outreach methods often fail to achieve. The project’s impact extends beyond a single election, strengthening civic engagement and empowering communities to play an active role in shaping their political future.
